When it comes to choosing supplements, I’ve spent countless hours researching, testing and refining my personal and family routine. One thing I quickly realized is that finding products that meet high standards for quality, purity and kosher certification can be tricky.

Many people who follow a kosher diet rely on two or three major companies that offer kosher-certified supplements. While these brands have made great strides and provide a solid option for most, I noticed that some of their products don’t always meet my personal standards. In addition to occasionally lacking organic, clean or non-GMO ingredients, some of their vitamins and minerals are in synthetic forms that aren’t as easily absorbed by the body. I completely understand and respect anyone who chooses to use these brands, but for my routine I wanted to find options that are both high-quality and fully kosher-certified, while also using forms of vitamins and minerals that maximize effectiveness.

It’s worth noting that according to several kosher certification authorities, not all supplements necessarily require a kosher certification because they are considered “medicine” rather than food. Sources like OU Kosher and cRc Kosher explain that many vitamins and minerals are exempt from kosher certification for this reason. I completely understand if someone chooses supplements that aren’t kosher-certified-it’s a valid and accepted practice. Personally, I just felt more comfortable going the extra step and finding supplements that are both high-quality and fully kosher-certified, so I know exactly what’s in each product.

Homeopathy & Kosher Considerations

Homeopathic remedies are another area where kosher certification is often considered optional. Most rabbis agree that homeopathic remedies are acceptable without kosher certification as long as they are sucrose-based rather than lactose-based. Again, this is totally understandable and many families use these remedies without concern. Personally, I found a company, Ollois, whose homeopathic products are kosher-certified, and I use their remedies frequently. They meet my standard for purity and certification, giving me extra peace of mind.

Dental Products

I know some people like their dental products - like toothpaste and mouthwash - to be kosher as well. Some of the dental products I recommend, however, are not officially kosher-certified, since they are not intended to be eaten or swallowed. That said, after consultation with my LOR, I carefully check the ingredients to ensure they are made with kosher-friendly components, so if a tiny amount is accidentally ingested, it’s still in line with kosher standards.

Why I Do This

This approach isn’t about judging anyone else’s choices. For me, it’s about choosing products that are clean, non-GMO, organic and kosher-certified wherever possible, while also being effective and trustworthy. It’s taken a lot of research, but I’m confident in the products I recommend and use every day.

Ultimately, my goal is to provide a carefully curated selection of supplements, homeopathic remedies and dental products that meet the above standards, so you don’t have to spend hours researching labels or certifications. Whether you’re looking for vitamins, minerals, topical or dental care, I aim to make it easier to choose products that are safe, clean and kosher-friendly.

Keep in mind that kosher certification can change at any time, so it’s always important to check the label when you receive any product to ensure it meets your standards.
